Solid wooden storage box big enough for a 6m Jurte (with the exception of the side and centre poles). Made from Finnish plywood, these boxes are an ideal way to safely store your Jurte when not in use. The box contains a removable tray for the pegs, ropes, chain and pulley with plenty of space beneath for the roof and panels. The tray also acts as a brace for the roof lid which means it can be used as a bench or even stood on if required without having to worry about the wood cracking (it took my weight, about 16st, when tested).
The box measures 100cm x 40cm x 42.5cm and has reinforced metal edges to protect the corners. It also has a large handle either end - long enough for two people to grasp easily - and a steel clasp that can be padlocked closed to make the box reasonably secure (it is only plywood after all).
This is an ideal solution to storing your Jurte (please make sure it is dry and clean before you pack it away for anything other than the trip back from a camp). The box does not have a plinth (although adding one should be straight forwards) so please do not stand it anywhere where the floor may be damp for an extended period as this will affect the wood.
